We are an Asheville area health collective aiming to make herbal medicine and other alternative modalities of healing accessible while helping folks feel empowered to take healthcare into their own hands & hearts.
The Hawthorn Community Herb Collective (HCHC) was birthed by a group of herbalist who recognized the need for more accessible health care in a climate where such basic needs are not easily attainable. We strive to be a community hub offering tools to build and support wellness resiliency and health justice through herbal care and other alternative modalities of health, healing & education in Asheville, NC and surrounding area.
As a group of herbalist we believe in the power of plants as medicine of the people, medicine that empowers us rather than leaves us dependent. We believe serving the under-served and offering support in times of crisis is vital to keeping a community strong. We believe bridging gaps among communities will aid in raising us up while constructing stronger systems for resiliency. We believe health care is a basic human right, and offering herbal medicine in our community and beyond can help fill the spaces where this right is void.
Current project: community apothecary, herbal support for the community in times of need, working with Seasons of Grace garden to deliver fresh herbs to the community via Bounty & Soul free farmer's market, free herbal education, foot care clinic, free & be donation clinic.
